Elliot B. Tapper


Elliot B. Tapper MD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Michigan where he is director of the Michigan Cirrhosis Program and holds the Margaret Gyetko Early Career Endowed Professorship. His research is NIH  (K23, UO1) and PCORI funded and he serves as a PI for the Liver Cirrhosis Network as well as PI for LIVE-SMART, a multicenter trial to prevent falls and hepatic encephalopathy in cirrhosis.
His interests in hepatic encephalopathy include risk prediction, health economics, clinical trials, and care innovation to prevent hospitalizations.
